The short version
HomePrices.ie has no accounts and no sign-up. Browsing the site stores nothing about you with us. The one place we keep personal data is the optional email alerts: the address you give us and the area you want to watch, described below. We do not sell data to anyone.
What happens to what you type
Searches and the pages you view are served from pre-built data; what you type into the search box is used to find the page and is not kept. Where the site offers to remember your work between visits, that data is kept in your browser’s local storage only. Clearing your browser data removes it. We have no copy and no way to see it.
Email alerts
If you ask for alerts about new sales near a place, we store your email address, the label you typed, the point and radius you chose, the time you subscribed and confirmed, and when we last wrote to you. To stop one person flooding the form, we also keep a one-way hash of your IP address for 24 hours; it is then erased. This data lives in a database hosted by Supabase in Ireland (EU) and the emails go out through Amazon Web Services in Ireland (EU). An alert that is never confirmed is deleted after 7 days. Every alert email carries an unsubscribe link, which deletes the alert and your address straight away.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookie-free measurement tool. It shows us aggregate numbers (how many visits a page gets, which country they come from) without cookies, without fingerprinting and without tracking you across sites. That is why this site shows no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard technical logs (IP addresses, request data) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
Advertising
If advertising is shown on this site in future, the advertising partner and any consent choices will be described here first, and you will be asked for consent where the law requires it.
Usage analytics
We use PostHog (EU servers) to see how the site is used: which buttons get clicked, how far pages are scrolled, where something breaks, and replays of visits with every typed character hidden. It stores nothing on your device, so two visits are not linked together.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you (for most visitors: nothing; for alert subscribers: the email address and the areas you chose), have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent at any time. The unsubscribe link in every alert email does the deletion for you. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
